Such a beautiful date suggests a very colourful post((:

Add me on MSN (spitsbeat[at]hotmalemail.com) and I'll send you this version of fei tian.
It's been cropped from the original one to exactly what we are playing for SYF this year.

So please do get your hands on this audio and plug it into your mp3/mp4/ipod/phone etc, put them on repeat mode and listen to it every day! ((:

SYF's really close, our target is no lesser than a Gold.
It's really a good time to panic and practise more!

The art room will still be, unless stated or otherwise, opened for self-practice on Fridays. It will be open from after school until around 4.00pm.

Although it is not stated as compulsory, please do still take the initiative to stay back for a short while to practise your respective instruments, *especially for those who are unable to take their instruments home for practise.

It is always nice to see self-motivated members taking the effort and time sticking around after school for such self practices. It's just like looking at my grandchildren playing in the living room, so sweet ((:
I hope to see more of such grandchildren around! :DD
For the regulars, you're doing a good job! Keep it up and work even harder yea, we as an orchestra really do appreciate having you boys and girls around.

Motivation is no more solely a SL's responsibility. Juniors seniors chairperson members, it all doesn't matter. Anyone can motivate and influence anybody as long as the will is there. We are a big family, if we want Gold, we gotta work it out together. No one should be left out.
Don't disappoint your seniors who had shed blood sweat and tears just to bring up and uphold TMSCO in such high standards.

Don't give up yo!
Practise makes perfect. I know people always claim that "nobody is perfect, why practise?"
Well, let us look at it this way -- nobody is perfect because nobody practises hard enough. So lets beat the odds and prove that practise really does create perfection.

Amen.

Regards,
Your all so very worried V.President,
The Adorable Guowei

Countdown: just TWO MORE MONTHS.

P.S. ain't colourful posts cool? We should do this more often! ((:

HELLO!

There will be NO CO SELF-PRACTICE THIS FRIDAY (21/01/09), however, YOU STILL HAVE TO BE IN THE HALL RIGHT AFTER SCHOOL THAT DAY to help with the CNY performance seating arrangement. Attendance is compulsory as important briefings will be conducted.

If everyone cooperates and work together as a team, we can target to end before 2pm or even earlier.

Anyone who fail to turn up without any valid reasons approved by the teacher-in-charge, Wanqi or myself, will be ggxxedifieded.

SYF's drawing closer every sunset, so please, attend ALL practice sessions.

and we got to postpone the announcement of the elected list of 2009-2010 committee.
Please note that this list of elects will only be tentatively permernant after SYF 2009. This means that from the day the elect list is being announced until SYF 2009, we, the 2008-2009 commitee as well as teacher-in-charge, reserves the rights to make any necessary amendments to the elected committee.

Good luck.

As the O' levels draw closer, it is inevitable that the current batch of Sec 4 committee and non-comm step down, thus leaving the posts of the executive committee temptingly vacant.

For those chairman-wannabes, lets get this clear, and straight. Your chances of getting that COVETED WONDERFUL GODLIKE POSITION of Chairman/woman, are decided and based on your attitude and character and performance, since the very day you stepped into C.O as little Sec 1s.
Also, do not assume that being a chairman/woman of C.O just consists of giving little debriefs at the end of every practice at the front of the Art room where everyone will notice you and your funny "jokes" or "motivational talks". Being a Chairperson is an immense responsibility, with you having juggle to C.O matters, admin matters, concert matters, with your schoolwork.

Take into consideration, your little stint as a committee member in 2008. Members of the committee and Orchestra have seen your disrespect to superiors, as well as paying of lip service to the respective TICs only when they're around. And to be frank, we despise that as it serves to disgust us by reinforcing the fact that you are just another no-good bootlicker who licks [insert appropriate noun] when needed.

Consider your attitude, as well as aptitude before actually thinking about your chances for the candidacy for Chairperson. For [insert adjective] sake, every single thing you do, from playing catching on the corridors during practices, to playing your little PSP during practices, have been noticed by the committee members one way or another, naturally, affecting the decisions that will eventually be made.

Just because you start acting and posing like a WONDERFUL GOODY-TWO-SHOES candidate just 3 months before the "elections/nominations", sucking up to the respective heads, or sitting at the coveted table, (i have no idea why you desperate poseurs do that) does not mean that you're all set to be the next Chairperson. Moreover, by currying favour with the Sec 1s (now sec 2s) and other C.O members, you think you can garner their votes, but you thought wrong, obviously. By doing the above, it only goes to show us how incapable you previously were to have to resort to these appalling methods in a futile bid to ensure you get the Chairperson position for your OWN PERSONAL GAIN.

For all your readers who do not wish to be Chairperson, or are not going to be one, and are only going to play a small yet big (ironic, i know, but isn't life an irony itself; namely, we live to die) role of voting the next chairperson, assume (i like to say assume) or should i say take into consideration, the people-whom-you-know-i-have-been-refering-to-in-the-above-paragraphs get into the nominating list to be chairperson, which will be decided by you voters. I BEG YOU ALL. Vote based on commitment, capability, not because that person has been nice to you or what. (if you are clueless on the "nice-to-you" part, refer to previous paragraph)

For C.O's sake, vote the right candidates.

2009 is here. How'd you spent the last moments of 2008?
Well, I've counted down to go home, "12am alr!! GO HOME GO HOME!"

Hmm, happy new year anyways! May 2009 be a better year for all of y'all.
It's also a good time to panic for SYF!

Practice will be as usual this Friday, 2nd January 2009, 2.30pm to 6.00pm. Hmm a little odd typing "2009" but anyways, please turn up yea, we've got a performance on 3rd January 2009!

Consent forms will be given on Friday, concerning the performance on Saturday. So yea, lets all welcome the new batch of sec ones too! Shall we do our best on the CCA Orientation, and attract all the cute people to CO!!! ((:

Excited? Hmm.
Well, here's a spoiler: Have you completed all your holiday assignments?

P.S. just so if you live in the mountains and ain't updated with things happening around you, here's the 2009 timetable. Teachers spent a long day in school doing this, so let's just at least view it..?

THE ORCHESTRA

Temasek Secondary Chinese Orchestra (TMSCO) was established in the 2000.
It expanded from a plucked string ensemble to a full-fledged orchestra in the year 2001.
Under the baton of Mr Cheng Chung Hsien, TMSCO enjoyed a successful flight achieving promising results in the SYF Central Judging between April 2002 to September 2008.
Now having Mr Liu Bin leading this army, TMSCO will definitely continue to strive for excellence and is determined to scale to even greater heights.
The orchestra now consists of over 90 enthusiastic members, with us six professional instructors.
