Well, to all newly joined C.O members who happened to visit this blog,

HELLO!

*waves like a possessed maniac*
if you must know, this is the product of boredom and a computer.
and a chair.
and a table.
and a keyboard.
and a mouse.
and a monitor.
and a CPU.
and just about every other object that can be thought of.

Enjoy your stay in C.O, newly-joined-members :D

What's with power play man.
2 months to SYF, and already we have seen a rat race emerge as to who can play the timpani.
Whats so glorious about playing the timpani?
I don't understand.
In a way, it seems that people are using timpani as a foothold to gain popularity, at the expense of other percussion players and possibly, the orchestra itself.

Let me reiterate my little phrase on the 2 months part. okay. TWO MONTHS. 62 DAYS.
2 months to SYF.
-edit- paragraph removed :)
too harsh, apparently, for some people, i guess. apologies.

-

Percussionists. If you have any self-respect left for your section or the orchestra at all, then for (insert adjective)'s sake, show those (insert adjective in plural form, i'm too tired to think) who doubt your skills in playing the damn Timpani.

Would you, as a male percussionist with a probably high ego, want to see your place as a Timpani percussionist lost to a female Plucked string member whose only form of "experience" comes as an ex-Yangqin player? (not trying to be sexist here, so don't assume)

I highly doubt so, and hope not.

Prove that conductor wrong. Prove those in charge wrong. Show those people what you, as a percussionist under the tutelage of Mr Wu Xiang Yang, have got.

Because if a plucked-string member can become a percussionist with 2 months remaining, something is seriously wrong with the Orchestra. Hold on, if that happens, in my honest opinion, i don't think it can be called an orchestra. Rather more of a FUN-FAIR.

So for (insert adjective)'s sake, practice and play well.

Goodnight.

THE ORCHESTRA

Temasek Secondary Chinese Orchestra (TMSCO) was established in the 2000.
It expanded from a plucked string ensemble to a full-fledged orchestra in the year 2001.
Under the baton of Mr Cheng Chung Hsien, TMSCO enjoyed a successful flight achieving promising results in the SYF Central Judging between April 2002 to September 2008.
Now having Mr Liu Bin leading this army, TMSCO will definitely continue to strive for excellence and is determined to scale to even greater heights.
The orchestra now consists of over 90 enthusiastic members, with us six professional instructors.
